Kindergarten is starting off our virtual school year talking about lines and colors. They are using lines to fill their entire paper (making sure to go all the way from one side to the other), and then coloring the entire lines in! Their parents and caregivers are doing a great job helping them along the way! Kindergarten students are learning about what colors mix together to create new ones. They love experimenting and discovering new combinations while painting their planets!
Kindergarten students are excited about the pinch pots they created! We started the lesson by learning about the difference between shapes and forms. They learned a little rhyme to help them remember; shapes are flat, forms are fat! Next they formed their pinch pot, and are working on painting them.
Kindergarten students are working on the Art to Remember project for the PTA. This is an exciting opportunity for them, along with their families, to purchase products with their own artwork on it! The used simple shapes to draw snails, and learned about how the ground and the sky meet while coloring. They also used paint and scratched a swirl into their snail's shell.
Kindergarteners are moving from learning about lines to shapes. They are creating collage robots using simple shapes and then adding beads and buttons as extra design elements.
Kindergarten students are using their knowledge of lines to draw castles with oil pastels. Here they are hard at work finishing them by painting with watercolors.
Kindergarten students are starting this year talking about types of lines. They came up with some interesting and unique ideas of things that can be in a line! They also observed the different types of lines that make up our classroom. They used this as inspiration to put as many different types of line on their papers as they could. They then used crayon to color them in, making sure to fill in all of their white spaces, and use lots of colors!
Kindergarten students are finishing their space paintings by adding rockets and space ships that they drew using simple shapes.
Kindergarten students are working on mixing colors to create planets for their outer space paintings. They will be adding in collage rocket ships next class!
