4th graders are learning about Op Art (Art that confuses the eye), while creating these awesome projects!
4th grade is starting our virtual school year with a little game to get our creativity going! We used a dice to determine which parts of a monster we were going to create, and then used types of lines to create details and a background!
4th graders are hard at work on their cityscapes for the PTA. They drew the cities and colored them black, so they are in silhouette, They are creating reflections of the buildings in the water and then painting the water and sky using watercolors and blending the colors together.
4th graders are learning how to illustrate a word. They chose an adjective and are using letter styles, line and color to create an artwork showing their word.
4th graders will be adding some ceremonial dancers to their aboriginal paintings. They are learning how to draw figures in motion by sketching from mannequins. Here are some of their works in progress.
Fourth graders are starting the year learning about the artwork of Australian Aboriginals. Using this as inspiration, they are creating paintings using dots and swirls.
4th grade students learned about artist Wassily Kandinsky's painting "Squares with Concentric Circles" as well as creating a clay slab bowl when they created these clay bowls. Here they are painting their bowls using one color and tints of that color.

4th graders worked with SUNY New Paltz student teacher, Rebecca Spodick, to create their portraits. they learned about draing a figure, symbols and artist Frida Kahlo while creating these multimedia artworks. You can get a closer look at the band and chorus concert next week!
